SIMY unveil My-AIS, the smallest marine emergency beacon in the world

Innovation made in France: 100% Breton design and manufacture Unmatched compactness: 2 to 4 times smaller than its competitors General use product: Sea safety is no longer only reserved for insiders and professionals

SIMY launches My-AIS, the smallest marine emergency beacon in the world. Practical, light and ultra-compact, it slips into every kind of lifejackets, even the most compact ones. True safety companion for outings at sea, even occasional ones, it makes it possible to have at your disposal an alert means with a range of 5 to 10 nautical miles depending on the sea conditions. My-AIS will be marketed from Tuesday 16th May on the merchant website www.simy-beacons.com. This new product is the first of a range on safety at sea.

My-AIS, a 100% Breton and ultra-reliable beacon for sea navigation
SIMY is the General-Use brand of SYRLINKS security products. The company is based in the heart of the technological basin of Rennes. My-AIS is entirely manufactured in Brittany, less than 80km away from Rennes. For more than 20 years, SYRLINKS has been conceiving communication devices for satellites, some of which have been used for the Rosetta mission and its Philae robot. A reliability of steel, a very compact design and high efficiency electronics are the trademarks of SYRLINKS and SIMY.

Compactness: My-AIS joins onto all types of lifejackets
Most of the emergency beacons are voluminous and may interfere with the movements of the wearer. They are generally rarely used by amateurs or casual boaters. My-AIS being smaller than a cellphone (11x4x2cm) and very light (95g), it will be discreet and quickly forgotten once inserted in the vest of the user.

SIMY: Safety at sea for all
The boating market now concerns 4 million of people in France and 87 million in the United States (*). My-AIS makes safety at sea accessible to all at an affordable price. This kind of beacon is no longer only reserved for insiders or professionals of the sea.

At sea, mutual aid prevails in case of distress
Once activated, My-AIS transmits the GPS position of the shipwrecked sailor by VHF waves. Ships or coast stations within radio range (5 to 10 nautical miles) will instantly know their distress situation and their location. They will then be able to intervene as quickly and effectively as possible to rescue them.

My-AIS is available for sale since May 16th, 2017 on the SIMY merchant website at the launch price of 199€: www.simy-beacons.com.
