EWC20
L Band Transmitter
The equipment operates in the 1698/1710MHz frequency range. The frequency can be moved within this range by step of 100 kHz. The RF output power is +27 dBm (0.5W) and this transmitter delivers a data rate of 400kbps with a QPSK modulation scheme.
The design of EWC20 is fully based upon the use of Commercials-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and was driven under the following policy: getting comfortable security margins, especially with components ratings and a validation campaign by performing stressing tests much harder than the requested qualification levels. The transmitter includes an insulated DC-DC converter with a 25/35V input range. Electronic fuses are also implemented on board in order to switch-off the internal power supply in case of latch-up – or over current consumption – due to space radiations.
